The Waukesha BluesFest, An American Blues and Art Festival, will be held on Friday, August 8th and Saturday, August 9th in the Naga-Waukee Park, located on 651 Highway 83 in Delafield. The gates open at 12:30 P.M. and the music begins at 1 P.M. and continues until 10:30 P.M.
The Blues is an indigenous art form of music that encompasses many classic genres of Americana music including R&B, soul, gospel, country, rock, as well as both contemporary and traditional Blues. The schedule for the incredible line up of music on Friday includes: Matt Tyner, Wapatui, Misha Siegfried and His Band, South End Blues Band, Extra Crispy Brass Band, Selwyn Birchwood, and the headlining band Canned Heat. On Saturday the schedule move includes: Steve Cohen, Gerome Durham “Mississippi Blues Boy,” The Blues Disciples, Tweed Funk, Jim Suhler and Monkey Beat, Trampled Under Foot, and headliner Curtis Salgado.
Along with the music is the art component of the Waukesha BluesFest, with a juried art show with all work selected by an art panel. These beautiful and affordable artworks are for sale in the mediums of photography, jewelry, pottery and ceramics, painting, leather work, metal art, sculpture, fused glassworks, and much more. Many of the artists will be on hand to discuss their work. The artwork is housed under a tent and available for perusing and purchase. There is also the opportunity to purchase a wide selection of food and beverages to make the festival truly fun for the whole family.
Discount advanced tickets are on sale now. Tickets are available online, by mail order, and through a number of local businesses. This is sure to be a memorable event, so plan ahead and be part of what makes Wisconsin wonderful.
